Position Summary:
The Drafter II will be responsible for drafting clear and accurate working plans and detail drawings, ensuring document accuracy, and assisting with plan submissions and RFIs. This role offers a clear progression path from Drafter I, with opportunities to develop new skills and advance within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D digital models and interior renderings using SketchUp and Photoshop.
- Create interior plans, elevations, and detailed drawings.
- Produce schematic design and design development drawings.
- Prepare construction drawings under supervision.
- Revise construction documentation by incorporating supervisor's redline comments.
- Prepare design slides (PowerPoint presentations) with minimal supervision.
- Handle plan, sample, and check pickups and drop-offs using a personal vehicle.
- Draft clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detail drawings using AutoCAD.
- Continuously review and check documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Understand the impact of changes on multiple architectural sheets.
- Resolve discrepancies by modifying drawings as directed by the supervisor.
- Enhance organizational reputation by taking on new challenges.
- Assist in checking plan submittals and responding to RFIs.
- Coordinate plan submissions to authorities and assist with pickups/drop-offs.
- Some understanding of construction, details and dimensions; and current building codes.
- Prepare as-built drawings from Recap under supervision.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of commercial architectural experience.
- Ability to work independently with high accuracy.
- Associate's degree or higher (foreign diplomas accepted).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Photoshop, SketchUp
- Reliable transportation.
- Legal authorization to work in the US.
