Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Provide guidance and support to cross-divisional worksite personnel offices on all personnel related processes and procedures.
- Act as primary contact and liaison between the Office of Administration and cross-divisional worksite personnel staff regarding garnishments, supplemental check requests, SAM II HR entries, and overfill requests.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on all aspects of the agency's applicant tracking system (MoCareers) and provide guidance to all levels of end users (DOC representatives and applicants) with related questions and technical questions.
- Serve as the final level of approval for vacancy postings within DOC.
- Review and distribute audit reports and coordinate with worksite personnel. Report any significant or ongoing issues to the appropriate Agency Human Resources Manager.
- Receive notification of overpayment/underpayment, provide technical instruction to worksite personnel for corrective action. Gather supporting documentation and prepare correspondence/calculations for the appropriate Agency Human Resources Manager review and DOC’s Human Resources Director’s approval. Coordinate repayments in accordance with the Office of Administration’s procedures.
- Provide secondary level review of applicant qualifications and identify classifications to consider for current job opportunities.
- Process Payroll Accounting Adjustments in SAM II HR, including leave of absence adjustments, and annual/cyclical compensatory leave payouts.
- Assist with or coordinates projects as requested/needed within the focus of payroll, benefits, position maintenance, compliance and/or other areas of Human Resources.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
Three or more years of experience as a Human Resources Assistant with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR
Four or more years of Administrative Office Support Assistant experience with primary focus in Human Resources/personnel administration in a State agency with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR
Two or more years of Executive I experience with primary focus in human resources/personnel administration in a State agency with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR
Four or more years of experience in business/public/personnel administration, hiring/recruitment, or related field.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university that includes earned credit hours in business/public/personnel administration, industrial/labor relations, psychology, statistics, or closely related field, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year)

Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:
- A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
- A $0.75 per hour medium security or $1.50 maximum security differential if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
- A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing differential if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
