Overview
We are seeking a dedicated , self motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our periodontal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the periodontist in various procedures including surgical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and chairside assisting techniques. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental clinic.
Duties
- Assist the periodentist during examinations and procedures/surgeries
- Acquiring all necessary information pertinent for an examination
- Take necessary x-rays
- Engage in conversation with patieints
- Set up/ take down of operatory
- Assist in charting information in patient charts using Open Dental
- Enable a smooth flow between patients and provide an exceptional experience for patients
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques
Experience
- DA I / II certification ( DA II preferred)
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical documentation practices
- Strong communication skills
- Maturity to take responsibility and seek to improve skills.
- Hard working and willing to work under pressure and time restraints
