Job Overview

Duties
- Plan, organize, and execute a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including memory care and dementia-friendly programs
- Coordinate resident events such as social gatherings, outings, and themed celebrations to encourage community involvement
- Assist with daily activities of living (ADLs) such as mobility support, medication reminders, and personal care assistance when needed
- Build strong rapport with residents through meaningful communication and personalized engagement strategies
- Maintain detailed records of resident participation, preferences, and progress to inform ongoing activity planning
- Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to incorporate therapeutic activities that support residents’ physical and emotional health
- Manage schedules for activities and ensure timely setup of materials, equipment, and spaces for each event or program
Experience
- Prior experience working with seniors in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia support strategies, and memory care programming
- Proven ability in event planning, program development, and recreational therapy tailored for geriatric populations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with residents of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools for documentation and scheduling purposes
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring specialized care is advantageous
- Previous leadership roles in senior living or community care settings that involved coordinating resident activities or team supervision are a plus
