Eco Home Builders is one of Southern California's fastest-growing design-build remodeling firms, specializing in high-end home renovations, ADUs, additions, and new construction projects throughout San Diego and Orange County.
We manage hundreds of active projects annually and are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Construction Finance Controller to oversee our accounting operations, financial reporting, job costing, and cash flow management.
This is a leadership position responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, profitability tracking, and operational controls across the company.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting and financial operations
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Supervise payroll processing and commission calculations
- Maintain QuickBooks and ensure accurate financial records
- Develop and maintain job costing systems
- Create and manage Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports
- Monitor project profitability and gross margins
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
- Manage company cash flow and forecasting
- Reconcile Buildertrend and accounting records
- Oversee vendor payments and financial controls
- Develop budgets and financial projections
- Support ownership with financial planning and business decisions
- Coordinate with external CPA, tax professionals, and banking partners
- Improve accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls
- Monitor contract billing, change orders, and project collections
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of construction accounting experience
- Buildertrend experince
- Strong knowledge of job costing and project-based accounting
- Experience with WIP reporting
- Advanced QuickBooks experience
- Strong understanding of cash flow management
- Experience managing payroll and commission structures
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple active projects
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Residential remodeling or design-build experience
- Experience with Buildertrend
- Experience supporting companies with $10M+ annual revenue
- CPA designation is a plus but not required
- Construction Controller experience preferred
Important
This is a hands-on leadership position. We are looking for someone who understands construction accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, and cash flow management.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
