Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate curriculum that fosters literacy education, math skills, physical development, and social-emotional growth in preschool-aged children
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management
- Plan engaging lessons that incorporate Montessori methods, early intervention strategies, and hands-on activities to support diverse learning needs
- Monitor and assess each child's progress through observations, standardized testing where applicable, and ongoing assessments to tailor instruction effectively
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate developmental milestones, behavioral concerns, and progress updates
- Manage classroom routines efficiently to ensure smooth transitions between activities and maintain a structured learning environment
- Support children with special education needs by implementing individualized plans and working closely with specialists when necessary
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is required; classroom management skills are essential
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education standards, and behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and teaching physical education
- Experience with toddler care, early intervention programs, special education strategies, and Montessori methods is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and specialists
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that promotes child welfare and supports diverse learners
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; state licensing requirements must be met
