Kitchen Cook – La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant

In this role, you will prepare fresh menu items, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and support daily restaurant operations while ensuring every dish meets our standards for flavor, presentation, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Mexican food items including tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, quesadillas, rice, beans, and house specialties
- Follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards consistently
- Ensure all food is prepared and served according to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with food prep including chopping vegetables, preparing meats, sauces, and other ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, equipment, and storage areas
- Work efficiently with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Properly operate kitchen equipment including grills, fryers, stovetops, and food prep tools
- Monitor food inventory and notify management of low stock or supply needs
- Support catering orders and special events as needed
- Follow all company policies and health department regulations
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift kitchen supplies when needed
- Experience preparing Mexican cuisine is a plus
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
