Responsibilities
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments accurately following veterinary instructions
- Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and maintaining clean living environments
- Handle various species including dogs, cats, and pocket pets with confidence and gentle care
- Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic procedures using aseptic techniques and proper handling methods
- Maintain detailed records of animal health, treatments, laboratory tests, and medication administration
- Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with pet owners
- Perform laboratory procedures such as sample collection or basic diagnostics to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning under the supervision of a veterinarian
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of animal handling, restraint techniques, and pet care best practices
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with kennel management, animal catheterization, or critical care is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners
- Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and pet medication protocols is desirable
- Valid experience with front desk duties including scheduling and client communication is advantageous
