Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dependable Patient Transport Driver to join our dedicated healthcare transportation team. Duties
- Safely operate passenger vans, shuttle buses, or personal vehicles to transport patients within local routes, adhering strictly to traffic laws and transportation regulations.
- Assist patients with boarding and disembarking vehicles, providing courteous support and ensuring their comfort throughout the journey.
- Maintain clear communication with healthcare staff and clients to coordinate pick-up and drop-off times efficiently.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and ensure cleanliness of the transport vehicles.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as assisting patients with mobility aids or luggage, following proper manual handling procedures.
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow designated routes accurately and optimize travel times.
- Document transport activities accurately in logs or electronic records, including any incidents or delays that occur during shifts.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, or shuttle driver with a valid driver’s license.
- Experience operating passenger vans, shuttle buses, or similar passenger vehicles; familiarity with limousine or <PERSON> driver roles is a plus.
- Knowledge of GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to ensure timely arrivals.
- Strong understanding of traffic regulations at the state level and adherence to transportation safety standards.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks related to patient transfer support.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and healthcare staff.
- Prior medical transportation experience is highly desirable but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Good maintenance awareness for vehicle upkeep and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues.
- Strong communication skills combined with a professional appearance and demeanor suitable for representing our organization.
