American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ED/Med-Surg Swing position at an acute care facility in North Dakota, requiring at least 2 years of experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Work setting is an acute care hospital ED/Med-Surg Swing unit with 22 beds
-
Patient population includes ED and swing bed patients across a broad range of diagnoses
-
Patient ratios are 1:4 for acute care, 1:6 for swing beds, and 1:4 in the ED
-
RNs are required to titrate drips, including standard titratable and set-rate drips
-
Respiratory equipment in use includes nebulizers, O2 (nasal and mask), ventilators (ED and transport use only), and CPAP (patient-supplied for swing bed patients)
-
Telemetry is present on the unit; ED nurses are responsible for reading strips
-
Charting is done in Epic
-
12-hour day and night shifts available (7a–7p and 7p–7a)

Every other weekend required

Every other holiday required

Flex/standby time may be required

Travelers are first to float; floating to ED holds may be required, and charge nurse duties may also be assigned

13-week contract

Active ND RN license or Compact (NLC) license required; license must be active — pending licenses are not accepted

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

At least 1 year of Med-Surg experience required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted

Epic EMR experience required

A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration

2 professional references are required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

BSN is not required

Candidate must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility within the past 12 months; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Orientation consists of 12 hours
