The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents, and supervising the day to day nursing activities performed by the Nursing Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses in accordance with federal, state and local standards. The Registered Nurse collaborates with all clinical staff and providers, communicating patient care information to residents and their families.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited, state approved school of nursing.
Licensure: Current Mississippi RN license, MS 90-day temporary permit, or Compact state RN license.
Experience: None.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact or educate residents. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical staff and providers. Ability to work independently as well as lead a team. Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the long-term care facility. Knowledge of uses and operations of equipment and instruments used in patient care. Ability to interpret Provider or healthcare team’s orders and carry them out as requested. Must be resident/customer service oriented, projecting professionalism and socio-economic and cultural sensitivity.
