Responsibilities
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct auto parts and accessories based on their vehicle’s make, model, and specific needs
- Manage inventory levels through accurate stock control, order fulfillment, and organization using inventory management systems like CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Process sales transactions efficiently using POS (Point of Sale) systems while handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods with professionalism
- Provide technical advice on automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, automotive repair, and automotive service procedures to ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean, organized parts department by stocking shelves, managing inventory control, and ensuring parts are properly labeled and stored
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and active listening skills
- Collaborate with the sales team to promote auto parts and accessories sales through marketing strategies and upselling techniques
- Support dealership or retail sales goals by fostering positive relationships with customers through outstanding customer service and product knowledge
Skills
- Excellent negotiation abilities to close sales effectively while ensuring customer needs are met.
- Proficiency in inventory management software such as CMMS or Microsoft Excel for stock tracking and reporting.
- Knowledge of automotive systems including vehicle maintenance, repair procedures, and vehicle systems diagnostics
- Experience with retail math for accurate pricing, discounts, and profit calculations
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and order fulfillment processes
- Effective communication skills for clear interactions with customers and team members
- Organizational skills to manage stock levels efficiently and maintain a tidy work environment
- Dealership experience or background in automotive service is highly valued but not required
