Stateline Road Smokehouse (SRS) is a quick service, fine casual restaurant featuring Kansas City inspired BBQ in an unpretentious environment. We are currently looking for Counter Servers to join our Front of House team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Counter Servers are at the forefront of providing great service to guests. They are responsible for taking food and beverage orders, fulfilling beverage orders, collecting payment and handling orders for pick up and delivery.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
These job functions include but are not limited to the following duties, and are not listed in order of importance. Other duties may be assigned.
- Possess complete knowledge of SRS's food and beverage menus
- Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly requesting proper identification and prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons
- Be able to take direction from both Dining Room and Kitchen Managers during service, as well as Team Leaders in a managers absence
- Have a command of the POS system as well as back-up manual systems used
- Acknowledge all guests with a warm, genuine welcome
- Take guest’s food and beverage orders, including fulfillment of beverage orders
- Total all charges and process payments, adhering to payment, cash handling and credit policies and procedures; Issue gift cards to guests when requested
- Extend appreciation for guests’ patronage and encourage their return, offering a fond farewell
- Manage online orders (individual & delivery), interacting professionally with couriers
- Communicate with Team Leader and/or manager on duty regarding customer feedback or service issues
LANGUAGE SKILLS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, & WORK CONDITIONS
Ability to read and interpret general menu modifications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, guests, and SRS Leadership Team. The physical demands of a Counter Server include being regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear. Frequently it is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The Counter Server is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and able to safely lift and easily maneuver plates, cases of water, beer, or wine, chairs, and dining room tables. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be high when working at sites during the construction process.
