JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Accountant is an entry-level role supporting the finance and accounts receivable team. This position is responsible for invoicing across the company's San Diego, South Carolina, Miami, and National markets, performing collections, and providing general support to the finance department. It is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate to build a foundation in accounting within the restoration industry.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices across the San Diego, South Carolina, Miami, and National markets.

Post and reconcile incoming payments to customer accounts.

Perform collections activities and follow up on past-due balances.

Provide general support to the finance department, including database support and data entry.

Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date accounts receivable records and documentation.

Assist with reconciling accounts and resolving billing discrepancies.

Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding invoices and payments.

Support month-end close and routine financial reporting as needed.

Assist the finance team with additional projects and administrative tasks as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Recent college graduate with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Internship or entry-level accounting or accounts receivable experience a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP/accounting system a plus.

Exposure to construction, restoration, field services, or insurance-claims billing a plus.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to work in person 5 days per week, with some flexibility in hours depending on business needs (e.g., month-end close).

Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States and able to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law.

Occasional lifting and carrying of files or supplies up to 25 pounds.

Ability to open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a step stool as needed.
