Travel RN - ICU

Job Details

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a hospital ICU position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and GA or compact RN licensure.

Work in a 24-bed Intensive Care Unit with an average daily census of 19 patients
Patient population ranges from adults to geriatrics with diagnoses including ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
Patient ratio of 1:2-3, with travelers expected to be prepared to take a third patient
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
Uses Pyxis and Epic systems along with SBAR communication
Navy blue scrubs required
Block scheduling is not guaranteed
Travel pairs are not permitted on the same unit and shift

Active GA or compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start
TNCC certification preferred
Experience with care of ventilated patients, HFNC, suctioning (ETT, NT), IV therapy, and central line care/management required
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
CVA/acute stroke management experience required
Post neurosurgery management experience preferred
CVVHD/CRRT experience preferred
Post cardiac surgery care experience preferred
First-time travelers accepted

Provide direct patient care within the ICU for a wide range of critical diagnoses and post-surgical conditions
Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all requests finalized prior to submission
Holiday coverage required based on the number of major holidays falling within the assignment period, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
Local candidates accepted at the same rate
Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
Travelers who were unable to return to a specific Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before rebooking
