General Summary
The Regional Director/ Operations Manager reports to the VP of Custodial Services and handles environmental services issues across multiple sites. They will oversees any staffing issues, contract disputes and vendor management while driving departmental policies and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental services policies and procedures.
- Ability to develop and engineer job positions understanding HHS productivity standards.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Oversee all sites to ensure they are effectively managing custodial, housekeeping and linen functions.
- Implement infection prevention and control practices across facilities.
- Manage hiring, training, evaluation, and scheduling of department staff.
- Monitor department budget and expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Conduct facility inspections for cleanliness and compliance with established standards.
- Streamline processes and remove workplace safety hazards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on sustainability and safety initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned by Vice President of Custodial Services
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in facilities or environmental services management, often at least 5 years in supervisory roles.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations, sanitation protocols, and infection control practices.
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and people management abilities for team leadership and cross-department collaboration.
- Experience managing budgets, projects, and departmental operations.
- Professional certifications may be required or desirable. CESE/RESE/CHESP
- Experience sufficient to understand technical and process-based aspects of the services we provide.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of software
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel visiting various job sites.
- Be able to walk extended period of time, bend, kneel, push, pull, and stretch as required.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs.
