Penmac Staffing is hiring a Cook for a local organization in Ironton, MN. This Cook position supports daily kitchen operations and plays an important role in food preparation, sanitation, and maintaining an organized kitchen. Requirements for the Cook
- Previous kitchen or food service experience preferred, willing to train the right candidate
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift as required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screenings
Cook Responsibilities
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures
- Label and monitor food items to ensure freshness and compliance
- Complete daily opening and closing kitchen checklists
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized kitchen
- Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and equipment
- Assist with food prep including portioning, wrapping, and stocking
- Refill cold table items, sauces, and kitchen supplies
- Prepare food for daily service, events, buffets, and salad bars
- Rotate and restock inventory, including thawing items as needed
- Remove trash and maintain clean waste areas
- Support team members and stay productive throughout the shift
Pay & Schedule for the Cook
- Pay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 2:30 PM to close
- Evening and weekend availability required
