Responsibilities
- Perform piano and organ music during weekly worship services, ceremonies, and special church events
- Select appropriate hymns, liturgical pieces, and contemporary religious music that align with service themes
- Accompany congregational singing by harmonizing melodies and improvising musical arrangements as needed
- Collaborate with church leaders and choir directors to plan music sets that enhance the worship experience
- Maintain and operate digital audio workstation (DAW) equipment for recording or live sound adjustments
- Ensure acoustic treatment within the sanctuary optimizes sound quality for performances
- Assist in training or mentoring volunteers or choir members in musical performance techniques
Requirements
- Proven experience performing religious and concert music, with a strong background in hymn music and liturgical traditions
- Proficiency in playing the piano and organ, with additional skills in guitar, drums, or other musical instruments considered a plus
- Knowledge of musical liturgical structures, hymnody, and ability to read sheet music fluently
- Experience with musical improvisation, composition, and blending diverse music genres to create engaging worship experiences
- Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) for recording or sound editing purposes
- Ability to harmonize melodies and adapt arrangements to suit different service formats or choir needs
- Previous theater experience or performance background that enhances stage presence and engagement skills
