American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC (Stepdown) position requiring 2 years of experience, WI/Compact RN license, and NIHSS certification in hand.

Work in the IMCU (Stepdown) unit of a community hospital
-
Cares for cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, and neuro stepdown patients
-
Patient ratio of 1:3-4
-
Variable schedule primarily nights, with potential shifts of 1500-0300, 0300-1500, or 2300-1100

Epic charting system experience preferred
-
Floating may be required
-
Active WI or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted at submission, must be obtained during compliance)

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
-
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (NIHSS must be in hand)

Community hospital experience required
-
Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Charge nurse experience preferred
-
Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
-
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response protocols
-
Experience managing chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway management preferred
-
Experience with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and seizure disorder care
-
Experience with cardiac drips, insulin protocols, and wound care/wound vac
-
Epic EMR experience preferred
-
SSN and DOB required for consideration

RTO must be submitted for consideration
-
Provide comprehensive stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and neurological/psychiatric patient care
-
Manage medication protocols including heparin, cardiac drips, and insulin titration
-
Perform procedural sedation monitoring and administer PCA as needed
-
Support patients with renal conditions including pre/post hemodialysis management
-
Passport-style badge photo required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
-
Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance, with one from the most recent assignment or permanent position
-
Orientation includes modules averaging 3-4 hours
-
Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
