Illusions Food Company is a locally owned wholesale manufacturing bakery located in Anchorage, Alaska. We prepare a large quantity of baked goods and deli items each day, including cookies, muffins, brownies, cakes, bars/squares, biscotti, scones, cinnamon rolls, etc.
We are looking for a fabulous leader to work with and oversee our Deli Production Team. Starting at a minimum of $22/hr. but pay rate is negotiable. If you have the skills and experience, let’s talk!
Illusions full-time employees are here 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Monday - Friday. No evening or weekend work available. NOTE: Occasionally minimal overtime is necessary to complete production for the day.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES (included, but are not limited to):
* Lead and work directly with the Deli Production Team, approximately two to three staff to:
· prepare, assemble, package, accurately label deli products.
· slice meat using commercial slicer.
· put incoming ingredients into cooler/freezer. Rotate stock to ensure freshness.
* Coordinate with Bakery Manager / Management to ensure Production Team is:
· following kitchen and food safety guidelines.
· knows what needs to be completed during the shift.
· operating efficiently and effectively.
· completing logs correctly.
· properly working with ingredients.
· preparing, finishing, frosting, wrapping, labeling, and storing products correctly, etc.
· cleaning and sanitizing areas in accordance with food safety guidelines and procedures.
· completing any required training.
* Coordinate with other teams (Bakers, Order Fulfillment, Bakery Production, etc.) to determine production priorities to ensure products are available to fill orders in a timely manner and inventory levels are achieved.
* Understand how to perform all Production Team duties, act as back up and/or ensure qualified team member(s) are trained.
SPECIFIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
* Two years team management in restaurant or food service facility.
* MUST be able to lead a team, provide direction and listen to feedback.
* Baking experience preferred.
* Understanding of baker’s math.
* Ability to accurately count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
* MUST be able to multitask and switch between multiple tasks quickly and effectively.
Physical Demands:
* Include but are not limited to: balancing, bending, carrying, climbing (foot stool or ladder), kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, squatting, standing, twisting, walking.
* Ability to carry/lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds at all times.
* Exposure to extreme temperatures (cooler, freezer, oven, outside, etc.)
* Ability to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours daily.

Requirements for all facility staff:
* Operate equipment in a safe and focused manner.
* Practice effective food/product cost controls.
* Maintain accurate record keeping of products prepared.
* Set and achieve the highest standard when executing position duties to minimize errors and product waste. Report any potential contamination or quality error to management immediately.
* Maintain proper storage, identification and organization of products, using FIFO method, while maintaining optimal freshness.
* Maintain a clean and safe work area(s). Ensure proper equipment and facility cleaning practices and maintain food code compliant facility at all times.
* Aid with special orders and projects as requested by management.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS:
* High school diploma or GED preferred.
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Ability to fluently speak, read, and understand the English language.
* Commercial bakery and/or manufacturing production experience preferred.
* State of Alaska or Municipality of Anchorage Food Workers Card (within 30 days of hire) and/or ServSafe Certification (preferred for this position).
