Description:
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Performs mammography exams as directed by physicians (le: screening and diagnostic mammograms, needle localizations).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform mammographic exams on patients as ordered by physicians. Selects appropriate techniques to achieve desired quality of completed exam.

Assist Radiologist with needle localizations assuring all necessary records, consents, and supplies are available.

Schedule patients for mammograms when needed. Schedule follow-up exams as needed.

Comply with established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.

Maintain required departmental records (patient/other), reports and files for governmental agency compliance. Adheres to MQSA policies and procedures. Assists with inspections.

Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.

Keep work area clean.

Perform informational seminars whenever possible.

Enter exams in the Radiology Information System and PACS.

Send for outside films for comparisons.

Attend services and other meetings as required. Attendance of 50% of all department meetings is required.

Perform duties of Radiology Technologist as needed.

Able to send and retrieve images from both cloud systems.

Perform other duties as directed by Diagnostic Imaging Director.

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.

Graduate of accredited program in Radiologic Technology.

Registry with the ARRT in Radiology required.

Registry in Mammography preferred.

Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.

Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.

Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.

Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.

Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
-
Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
-
Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
-
Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
