Job Description:
The Assistant Used Car Manager will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the pre-owned vehicle sales department with a goal of selling 70 to 80 used cars per month. Responsibilities will also include inventory management, vehicle pricing, sales processes, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a hands-on leader with excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong understanding of the used car market, and the ability to lead a team to success.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Assist with the selection and procurement of used cars, ensuring a diverse, high-quality inventory that aligns with customer needs and dealership goals.
- Pricing & Market Analysis: Assist with setting competitive pricing for pre-owned vehicles by evaluating market trends, competitor prices, and vehicle condition.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with customers to drive repeat business and ensure satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- Profitability: Monitor financial performance of the used car department, controlling expenses, and maximizing profitability.
- Appraisals & Trade-Ins: Assist with the appraisal process for trade-ins, ensuring accurate evaluations and fair offers for customers.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all vehicle transactions comply with dealership policies, local, state, and federal regulations, and maintain accurate records.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on sales performance, inventory turnover, and market conditions for dealership management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in used cars or automotive sales, preferably in a luxury car dealership (Audi experience is a plus).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of the used car market, including market trends, pricing strategies, and vehicle evaluation techniques.
- Customer-Focused: Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with customers and staff.
- Problem Solving: Strong decision-making and analytical skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and challenges quickly and effectively.
- Technology: Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) and other automotive sales tools.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in business, marketing, or related field is a plus.
