Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting their favorite ice cream flavors and toppings.
- Scoop ice cream accurately and efficiently using proper techniques to ensure quality and presentation.
- Operate POS systems such as square or toast to process transactions smoothly and accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning scoops, counters, and work areas.
- Handle cash transactions, give correct change, and manage cash handling responsibilities with integrity.
- Upsell additional toppings, specialty items, or combo offers to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Restock supplies, manage food handling procedures, and ensure all food safety protocols are followed diligently.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Square is a plus.
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality service.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and outgoing personality.
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, pricing, and transaction accuracy.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience working in quick service or fast-food restaurants is advantageous; restaurant or café experience is highly valued.
