Supervises regular and temporary staff: plans coordinates, assigns and reviews work of individuals and the team; evaluates training needs and provides instruction; schedules staff vacations and approves sick leave; recommends discipline, disciplinary actions, discharge and salary increases; approves timesheets; interviews candidates; conducts employee performance evaluations; and establishes and promotes employee morale. Assists in department administration; assists in formulating and recommending changes to policies and procedures for area of assignment to improve processes; monitors new legislation and evaluates impact on department activities; and supervises, develops, conducts and participates in special administrative or technical projects, including cross-functional team projects. Supervises and provides customer service; provides information and answers questions and concerns regarding tax accounts, tax code interpretation and department policies and procedures; investigates and resolves questions, issues, and technical problems; responds to open records request in accordance with legal guidelines; and directs customers to appropriate department or individual as necessary. Conducts research to resolve complex tax questions and complaints; receives escalated questions and complaints concerning tax bills, tax laws and regulations, ordinance, assessments and valuations, exemptions, and other tax related issues. Performs other related duties as required. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field required; supplemented by two years of experience in area of assignment, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must have a valid South Driver's License.
