The AOT Fleet Service Technician is responsible for mechanical and electronic service work on automobiles, heavy trucks, construction equipment, snowplow and spreader systems utilized by the Agency of Transportation (VTrans). Candidates should have diagnostic and research skills, in addition to the ability to plan and schedule work while setting priorities and responding to unanticipated service needs. The ability to remain self-motivated and work independently is required to be successful in this position.
This position is eligible for a sign-on and retention bonus of up to $2000! Newly hired CDL and non-CDL holders who are hired into permanent maintenance worker or mechanic job on or after July 13, 2025 are eligible. Starting salary may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
As of July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 22 will be $26.50 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $41.37 per hour.
