Under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Solid Waste, Landfill Manager, or designee, this position is responsible for maintaining facilities and grounds by performing general labor.Position Start Date Varies With Each Applicant

The applicant must be at least 18 years of age.The applicant must have a current and valid driver’s license. Use of personal vehicle to travel to work locations may be required.The employee must be able to work a flexible work schedule, if required.Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.Applicant must possess basic knowledge of methods, techniques, materials, and equipment used in general maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds.Ability to safely operate and maintain small and mid-sized tools and equipment.Ability to follow oral and written directions and schedules.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public.

The employee must be able to do strenuous work in all kinds of weather and on surfaces at, above, or below floor level. Work conditions may include exposure to noise, slippery surfaces, dust/dirt, fumes and foul odors. Physical exertion is regularly required. The employee may be exposed to dust and other irritants and toxic/poisonous substances. Personal protective equipment is provided and must be used in accordance with best practices, federal and state laws, and Borough policies. Most duties are performed in and around Borough facilities and properties including lawns and buildings.
