The Role
Your primary and most important role will be acting as one of our Optical Stylist, guiding patients through the process of selecting the perfect frames and lenses. However, ours is a highly collaborative, cross-trained environment. When you aren't styling patients, you will be seamlessly stepping in to handle front desk duties, clinical pre-testing, and administrative tasks. For the right self-motivated individual, mastering these diverse operational areas offers a direct pathway to a managerial role.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Focus:
- Optical Styling & Sales: Act as one of our primary eyewear experts. Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that best fit their lifestyle, prescription, and personal style.
- Contact Lenses: Assist with contact lens ordering, patient instruction, and inventory management.
Cross-Trained Duties:
- Clinical Support / Pre-Testing: Perform preliminary technician testing (such as auto-refraction, visual acuity, or imaging) to efficiently prepare patients for their exam with the doctor.
- Patient Experience: Greet patients warmly, answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and ensure a seamless flow from check-in to check-out.
- Administrative Operations: Handle insurance verifications, billing inquiries, filing, and other general office duties to maintain optimal office efficiency and operational stability.
- Practice Growth: Proactively identify ways to improve office workflows and take on increasing responsibilities as you train toward a management position.
Who You Are
- Experienced & Fashion-Forward: Previous experience in an optometry practice, optical sales, or a retail styling environment is highly preferred. You have a great eye for what looks good on people.
- Personable: You have a friendly, warm, and professional demeanor that instantly puts patients at ease.
- Multitasker: You can effortlessly transition from styling a patient to clinical pre-testing or juggling ringing phones.
- Self-Motivated: You take initiative, require minimal micromanagement, and are always looking for ways to contribute to the team's success.
