Commercial Litigation & Regulatory Paralegal

Base Salary: $115,000–$130,000
Hybrid Position: 4 days a week in office
A highly respected. top national law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation & Regulatory Paralegal to join its Austin office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong paralegal who wants to work on sophisticated commercial, regulatory, environmental, and energy-related matters with a nationally recognized law firm.
Prior environmental or regulatory experience is NOT required. The firm is very open to experienced commercial litigation paralegals with strong tenure, complex case experience, and a solid law firm background.
This position offers exposure to high-level matters involving regulatory proceedings, hearings, litigation, legal research, discovery, and filings before Texas regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys on complex commercial, regulatory, environmental, and energy matters
- Assist with all phases of litigation, hearings, and regulatory proceedings
- Manage discovery, including document collection, productions, privilege review, and discovery responses
- Prepare exhibits, hearing notebooks, witness materials, and trial/hearing documents
- Assist with deposition and trial/hearing preparation
- Draft and coordinate pleadings, motions, discovery requests, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Prepare and submit electronic and regulatory filings
- Track court, hearing, regulatory, and case deadlines
- Conduct legal and regulatory research using Westlaw and Lexis
- Review contracts and assist with due diligence projects
- Coordinate with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and outside vendors
- Manage multiple sophisticated matters in a fast-paced law firm environment
Qualifications
- 5+ years of paralegal experience
- Strong commercial litigation, complex litigation, regulatory, environmental, energy, or similar experience
- Experience with discovery, depositions, hearings, trial preparation, and/or complex filings
- Strong e-filing and case management experience
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Stable employment history and demonstrated tenure
- Environmental, energy, electric regulatory, or administrative law experience is a plus, but not required
- Paralegal certification preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
