Duties
- Safely operate various vehicles including commercial trucks and automobiles to deliver products to retail stores and clients.
- Plan efficient delivery routes using organizational skills to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines.
- Handle heavy lifting with safe lifting practices to load and unload merchandise, ensuring product integrity.
- Communicate effectively with clients upon delivery, building strong customer relationships through friendly service.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to maintain compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and ensure safety standards are met.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging sales skills to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records for smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving or automobile transportation preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety procedures, and heavy lifting practices.
- Strong math skills for pricing calculations, route planning, and inventory management.
- Retail store experience or merchandising background is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Organizational skills to manage routes efficiently and keep detailed records of deliveries.
