Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Sort and pre-rinse items before washing to ensure optimal cleanliness and efficiency.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by regularly cleaning dish racks, sinks, and surrounding areas in accordance with health regulations.
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including basic chopping or ingredient handling under supervision.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and ensuring dining areas are tidy for guests.
- Follow proper manual handling techniques to lift heavy loads safely during dishwashing and cleaning tasks.
- Adhere strictly to kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is highly valued.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is a plus.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers safely and effectively.
- Strong understanding of kitchen health and safety standards including proper manual handling techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the shift.
