FLSA: Maintenance, non-exempt
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and orderly environment throughout College facilities. The position performs a variety of custodial, housekeeping, and facility support duties, including cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and other campus facilities. The Custodian supports daily operations by maintaining building cleanliness, assisting with event setup and breakdown, and helping ensure College facilities present a professional appearance for students, employees, and visitors.
The Custodian receives general supervision from the Supervisor, Custodial Operations and/or Executive Director, Business and Administrative Services.

Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily indoors with occasional outdoor responsibilities. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Regular lifting and moving of furniture, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds may be required, with occasional heavier lifting performed with assistance.
The position routinely works with cleaning chemicals, custodial equipment, ladders, and powered floor maintenance equipment. Exposure to dust, cleaning products, noise, and varying environmental conditions may occur. Day, evening, weekend, holiday, emergency, and special event work may be required based on operational needs.
