The Early Childcare Center Custodian is responsible for helping maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for preschool children, staff, families, and visitors. This part-time position performs routine janitorial duties in classrooms, bathrooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces. The role is well suited for a dependable individual who can work independently, pay close attention to detail, and follow a consistent afternoon schedule.
· Sweep, vacuum and mop floors in assigned areas.
· Clean windows, glass, and other visible surfaces as needed.
· Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, counters, fixtures, and floors.
· Remove trash and replace liners in classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common spaces.
· Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties as assigned.
· Report maintenance, safety, or supply concerns to supervisor.
· Work independently and complete assigned duties in a dependable and timely manner.
Education or Experience
Education: High School diploma, GED or equivalent
Experience: Prior custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, childcare center, school, or church facility cleaning experience is helpful but not required.
Background: Must be able to meet all background check and safety requirements for working in a childcare environment.

This position is expected to work 2–4 hours per day, beginning at 2:00 p.m., and follows the Stillwater Public Schools calendar and schedule. Remote work is not possible in this position. The work requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, sweep, mop, lift trash bags, carry cleaning supplies, and perform repeated cleaning tasks. The employee may be exposed to common cleaning products and must use them safely and appropriately. The position supports a preschool environment and requires care in maintaining spaces that are clean, safe, and healthy for children.
Schedule adjustments may occur based on the childcare center calendar, Stillwater Public Schools schedule, holidays, closures, or special cleaning needs.
Pay: $10.50 - $11.25 per hour
