The Project Engineer is the liaison between the field team and the administrative team in the office as a successful project is engaged. They monitor activities at construction job sites. This includes working to ensure that the construction project is progressing as scheduled and contract specifications are adhered to.
As a Project Engineer with Minero General contractor, you will report directly to the Project Manager. In your role you will have the opportunity to:
- Inspect construction sites daily and work with trade partners to facilitate procurement and coordinate deliveries to project sites.
- Assist trade partners and our superintendents as they interpret designs and drawings, and
- Research and resolve drawing conflicts, trade interference, omissions and errors.
- Prepare field design change requisitions and “as built” drawings
- Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports and punch lists
- Work with superintendents to verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications
- Attend meetings with other contractors, clients, or A/E representatives to coordinate design and construction efforts
- Develop checklists for project closeout documentation in conjunction with specifications
- Coordinate quality control activities with the construction schedule
- Assist Contracts Manager with scope gaps
- Research and propose solutions to quality control issues
- Create, process, and propose solutions and administers RFI’s
- Set-up job specific concrete log, as well as reviews and maintains concrete log
- Coordinate MEP start-up and commission meetings and overhead and underground coordination
- Understand and comply with company’s safety program and remedial safety procedures
- Coordinate changes in mock-ups and/or shop drawings and specifications
- Oversee Quantity Take-off’s as project requires
- Oversee project related pricing/budgets
- Develops procurement log and tracks progress to ensure compliance with project schedule
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
· Two or more years of commercial construction experience with a Commercial General Contractor
· Proficient with MS Office Suite, Procore, Autodesk, or other CMS platforms
- Experienced in blueprint reading, construction scheduling and CAD
