The Administrative Support Unit is integral to the various Units within the Customer Compliance Services Section, including but not limited to Administrative Hearings, Adjudications, Ignition Interlock, and Medical Review. This position is responsible for processing hearing requests, collecting hearing fees, scheduling hearings, mapping hearing requests, processing refunds, rejecting under payments, receiving, and processing written or electronic inquiries from the public, attorneys, and government officials. This position also reviews and interprets the driving record and applies to North Carolina General Statutes.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC08 $39,244 - $68,679
Management prefers applicants with the following:
- Experience with collecting fees, balancing a cash drawer, and making electronic deposits.
- Working knowledge of reading, interpreting, and applying policies and procedures, while maintaining compliance with North Carolina General Statutes.
- Working experience using Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Working experience with entering and extracting information from mainframe and web-based computer systems and applications.
- Experience providing customer service by phone and/or in person to a diverse clientele.
Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
