Position Overview:
We're seeking an experienced, hands-on Project Manager to lead all aspects of our construction operations in Los Angeles. You'll manage job sites independently, coordinate crews and subcontractors, handle permitting, oversee budgets and materials, and ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily job site operations and crew management.
- Handle project permits and regulatory compliance.Coordinate material sourcing and budget management.
- Complete daily job reports and documentation on our web system each night.
- Communicate directly with ownership on project status and challenges.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore or Construction Management Software to monitor progress, document issues, and generate reports.
- Conduct regular project meetings to review schedules, resolve issues promptly, and keep stakeholders informed of progress.
- Manage contracts with subcontractors and vendors; negotiate terms while ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Oversee procurement processes for materials and equipment; ensure timely delivery aligned with project schedules.
- Read and interpret construction plans accurately; coordinate construction schedule updates as needed for smooth workflow.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing residential construction projects with a strong track record of delivering on time and within budget.
- Extensive knowledge of construction scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and cost management practices using HeavyBid or comparable software.
- Hands-on experience with construction site supervision; understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings confidently; adept at managing complex infrastructure projects when applicable.
- Strong leadership skills in managing teams within a fast-paced construction environment; excellent communication abilities.
- Knowledge of construction regulations specific to residential building codes; experience ensuring regulatory compliance throughout projects.
- Skilled in project coordination across multiple disciplines including civil 3D for site design considerations when necessary.
- Demonstrated ability in managing project budgets effectively while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent time management skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- Three to five years of construction field experience in management or supervision.
- Proven track record managing crews of ten to twenty people.
- Experience coordinating and managing subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of California building code.
- Valid California driver's license.
- Comfortable with daily documentation and reporting via web-based system.
Preferred Qualifications:
- California contractor's license.
- Hands-on problem-solving and decision-making ability.
