Job Title: RISE Recovery Coach
Job Class: Peer Services (Full-Time)
Reports to: Peer Services Manager
Position Summary
Utilizes peer counseling skills to assist in de-escalating crisis by making peer to peer connections with consumers, counsel’s consumers about accessing mental health services/crisis services to mitigate feelings of fear and resistance. Provides advocacy for consumers, provides education and counseling to help consumers understand how to recover from a crisis as well as how to manage their long term and short-term mental health symptoms. Assist motivating consumers to schedule and keep appointments, accompanies consumers to appointments as needed. Helps in determining additional needs and identify surfacing feelings, provides life skills education and provides bridge building outreach in community settings. Required Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Experience in recovery and/or psychosocial rehabilitation and the ability to articulate our core values
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Basic Life Support certification (can be earned after hire on site)
· HHS/OIG cleared (must be able to pass background check)
· Lived experience as a consumer of behavioral health services
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bilingual required
· Knowledge of community resources and other systems useful to mental health consumers
· Willingness to self-identify as a consumer of mental health services
Salary & Benefits:
· Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $25.00
· Bilingual bonus available
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
