New York Chicken & Gyro in North Hollywood is seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Cashier / Customer Service Associate to join our front-of-house team. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, comfortable handling transactions, and able to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales, refunds, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly and assist with menu questions and ordering
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately and responsibly
- Upsell menu items, combos, drinks, and promotions to increase sales
- Communicate order details clearly to the kitchen and customers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter and checkout area
- Stock supplies and assist with basic inventory replenishment as needed
- Ensure accuracy when entering orders and reading orders back to customers
- Provide excellent customer service by resolving issues professionally and promptly
- Answer phones, take orders, and assist with customer inquiries when required
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Ability to perform basic math accurately
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Friendly, professional attitude with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible shifts
