Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Fire Safety Attendant / General Laborer to monitor the welding department for a long-term construction project in Hagerstown, MD.
PAY: $22–$24/hour
HOURS: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: Approximately 1-year

Fire Safety Attendant / General Laborer Job Description:
Fire Safety Attendant / General Laborer will oversee active welding operations to help prevent fires and maintain safe working conditions throughout the construction project. Responsibilities include monitoring hot work areas during welding activities, identifying potential fire hazards, maintaining awareness of surrounding combustible materials, and responding quickly to unsafe conditions.
Additional duties may include assisting with housekeeping, keeping work areas clean and organized, and supporting overall jobsite safety procedures.
Qualifications for Fire Safety Attendant / General Laborer:
- Minimum 3 years of construction or industrial experience
- Knowledge of fire extinguisher classifications and proper usage
- Ability to recognize and respond to fire hazards
- Experience working around welding or hot work operations preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and crews
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work independently while maintaining constant vigilance
Physical Requirements for Fire Safety Attendant / General Laborer:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in active construction environments
- Must be able to bend, kneel, climb stairs, and lift materials as needed
- Ability to maintain focus and awareness throughout shift
- Must be able to assist with jobsite cleanup activities
PPE & Tools Required:
- Hard hat
- Steel-toed boots
- Safety glasses
- Work gloves
Additional Requirements for Fire Safety Attendant / General Laborer:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Reliable attendance and transportation required
- Must be able to pass a 5-panel drug screen
