Job Overview
Join our vibrant early childhood education team as an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher for our 2-year-old program! In this dynamic role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for young children. The position begins on September 1, 2026 and ends on May 31, 2026. Summer 2027 may be possible. The hours are Monday through Friday, usually 7:30 – 12:30 or 1:30. Additional hours may be available, depending on the needs of the program.
Duties
- Assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive environment and encouraging respectful behavior among children.
- Help with daily routines such as diapering, feeding, nap time, and bathroom assistance in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, needs, and daily activities to foster strong partnerships.
- Support classroom organization by preparing materials, cleaning up after activities, and maintaining a tidy learning space.
- Follow mandated reporting laws and health protocols to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a secure environment for all children.
Skills
- Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and child supervision techniques.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (Pediatric First Aid preferred) to respond confidently to emergencies.
- Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with children with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration.
- Classroom management skills to create an organized, nurturing atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines, including mandated reporting laws related to child welfare.
- Compassionate caregiving skills with experience in toddler care, infant care, babysitting or nannying are highly valued.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
