Activities associated with the position include:
Legal Support Duties:
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for General Counsel.
- Draft, review, and proofread contracts, agreements, and legal correspondence.
- Maintain and organize legal files, ensuring proper record-keeping and confidentiality.
- Assist in preparing materials for meetings, hearings, and presentations.
- Coordinate with outside counsel, clients, and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Track deadlines and manage calendars for legal filings, contract renewals, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of corporate documents, including licenses and regulatory filings.
- Prepare reports and summaries related to legal and compliance matters.
- Manage and update legal templates and internal policies.
- Support litigation efforts by gathering and organizing documents, coordinating schedules, and liaising with stakeholders
Competencies
- Good understanding of legal procedures and terminology to facilitate smooth operations and support the delivery of legal services.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain organized files and records.
- Ensuring accuracy in legal documents, correspondence, and data entry to prevent errors.
- Strong written and verbal communication to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, and other stakeholders.
- Understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and document formats relevant to the legal field.
- Skilled in using legal software, MS Office Suite, document management systems, and electronic filing systems.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage busy schedules efficiently.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive legal information and client details.
- Ability to anticipate needs, resolve issues proactively, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Professional demeanor, patience, and strong interpersonal skills to handle client interactions and internal communications.
Administrative Backup Duties:
- Serve as backup to the executive administrative assistant during absences or high-volume periods.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support executive leadership.
