We are looking for an experienced cook to join our culinary team at the Barking Frog. This role is a great fit for someone who loves the craft of cooking, takes pride in consistency and prep, and wants to continue growing in a professional kitchen with strong culinary leadership.
Our culinary team supports a variety of food and beverage experiences, including restaurant service, fine dining, banquets, events, and employee dining. The right candidate will bring previous professional kitchen experience, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in learning, improving, and contributing to a team that cares deeply about food, service, and hospitality.
What You'll Do:
Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes, standards, and presentation expectations
Work across stations using a variety of cooking methods, including grill, saute, fry, prep, and production
Assist with food preparation for restaurant service, banquets, fine dining, and other culinary needs
Set up and maintain workstations with the necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment
Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, and basic fabrication
Support consistency, quality, and timing during service
Help minimize waste through thoughtful prep, storage, and cross-utilization
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen environment
Follow food safety standards and ensure products are stored properly
Work as part of a collaborative culinary team focused on quality, professionalism, and guest experience
What We're Looking For:
Successful candidates will have:
2-3 years of previous culinary experience in a professional kitchen
A current WA food handler's certification, or the ability to obtain one
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A willingness to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, and holidays
The ability to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 50 pounds
At least 18 years of age
A desire to learn, grow, and exceed expectations
$1,500 net sign-on bonus (50% paid after 30 days, 50% paid after 90 days)
What this role looks like:
You’ll be working morning shifts as part of our culinary team, helping with prep, station setup, line execution, cleanliness, and organization. You should be comfortable working with standard kitchen equipment, following recipes, maintaining quality, and keeping pace during service.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $1,500 net sign-on bonus (50% paid after 30 days, 50% paid after 90 days)
- $26.50 - $30.39 per hour + tips (non-exempt, hourly, paid bi-weekly)
