Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various pharmacy settings, including LTC (Long-Term Care) and hospital environments. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and accurate administration of medications. The Pharmacy Technician will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to support patient service initiatives and enhance overall patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Conduct medication intake processes, ensuring accuracy in patient medication records.
- Provide critical care support by managing medication administration for patients in acute care settings.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare staff and patients regarding medication-related inquiries.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety protocols and regulations.
- Engage with patients to provide excellent service, addressing their needs and concerns regarding their medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care plans and medication therapies.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required, preferably in billing.
- Familiarity with critical care processes and acute care environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice.
- Experience with IV infusion preparation and administration is a plus.
