Do you enjoy baking, being creative, and making a meaningful impact in someone's life? Social Thrive is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and compassionate Baking & Crafts Assistant Instructor to help create engaging, hands-on classes for teens and adults with special needs.

What You'll Do
As a Baking & Crafts Assistant Instructor, you'll work alongside our lead instructors to support small-group classes. Some days you'll assist in our baking classes, helping participants measure ingredients, mix recipes, decorate treats, and develop practical kitchen skills. Other days you'll support our creative arts instructor by assisting with painting, crafts, clay, mosaics, and other hands-on art projects.
Every class is designed to help participants build meaningful life skills while having fun.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead instructor during baking and arts & crafts classes.
- Provide encouragement and individualized support to participants throughout each class.
- Help participants follow directions, complete projects, and develop new skills.
- Prepare materials and assist with class setup and cleanup.
- Foster a welcoming, patient, and positive learning environment.
- Encourage communication, creativity, teamwork, and independence.
- Celebrate participant achievements and help make each class a positive experience.
Who You'll Be Working With
You'll be supporting small-group classes for individuals ages 13 through older adulthood with special needs. Our participants have a wide range of abilities, and our goal is to create an inclusive environment where everyone can learn, grow, and thrive.

- Able to stand, move around, and assist during active, hands-on classes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred but not required.
- Experience in education, recreation, baking, art, childcare, direct support, or human services is a plus.
- A passion for helping others build confidence and develop new skills.
Bonus points if you are interested in being an assistant to some sports classes as well.
