The Opportunity
This unpaid SkillBridge training opportunity is designed to provide transitioning active-duty service members with hands-on, mission-focused experience as they complete their final phase of military service. The program is 12 weeks in duration and offers practical exposure to real-world systems integration, engineering, and mission systems operations in a government-adjacent environment. This is an onsite position located at or near MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL.
The Integration Engineer SkillBridge participant will be responsible for conducting hands-on integration of a variety of systems, applications, and networks to ensure interoperability across mission-critical environments. In this role, you will execute compatibility checks, support test plan development, and document system behaviors and baselines to support engineering and operational standards. Additionally, you will troubleshoot mid-level technical issues, coordinate with engineering, operations, and acquisition stakeholders, and support system upgrades and modernization efforts. Participants will also engage in user testing and validation events while tracking assigned tasks throughout integration activities and test cycles. Successful candidates must be able to manage multiple technical priorities, operate in fast-paced environments, and support structured testing and deployment timelines.

Education

Associates Degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelors degree preferred.
Required Skills, Experience & Abilities

3+ years’ experience

1+ year supporting SOF systems

System integration experience

Familiarity with TACLAN/SDN/C4TIP

Interpret engineering docs

Troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications

VMware/Linux/Rancher/Kubernetes/Android/Windows

OEM training

This opportunity is offered as part of the DoW SkillBridge program and is structured as a 12-week training experience. All participants must be approved through their command and comply with all SkillBridge program requirements, including securing the necessary authorizations prior to the start date.

This position is located at or near MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. Work may occasionally be performed in secure government facilities and will require strict adherence to all applicable security protocols and procedures. The role may also involve periodic travel to customer sites, government installations, and industry events in support of mission requirements.
