Job Description:
Ewing Cattle Company is seeking a Cattle Feeder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily feeding operations of our cattle, ensuring all animals receive the proper rations to maintain health and growth. We're looking for someone with strong knowledge of feedlot operations and animals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feed proper rations & ensure cattle on feed have access to clean water
- Perform animal health checks and work with team to treat sick animals
- Farm, hay, and perform the work necessary to provide cattle with quality feed
- Maintain feeding and haying equipment
Skills:
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
- Good communication skills to work effectively with team members.
Requirements:
- Prefer prior experience with an agricultural background or a comparable field of study through formal education.
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of chain drives, gear boxes, variable speed drives and water well equipment.
- Must have at least a basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic components
- Demonstrated ability to operate and attach/hook-up all farm heavy equipment.
- Properly manage and handle pesticides, fertilizers, fuels, and lubricants.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Must have a valid driver's license in good standing, the ability to be an approved driver for the company and to safely operate vehicles.
- Ability to work a ten (10) hour shift, six days a week and extended hours as necessary
- Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to vibrating motions
- Bilingual Preferred
Physical Demands/Requirements (Lifting, Bending, Stretching, etc.):
- Seasonal temperature changes and windy conditions.
- Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time
- Performance of repetitive stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to move materials and equipment up to 100 pounds over distances of 10 feet or more.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
