Substitute Assistant Teacher / Substitute Behavior Technician
Location: Edison, NJ
Pay: $16.00–$18.50 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: As Needed | Monday–Friday | Between 8:00/8:30 AM and 4:00/4:30 PM

Are you passionate about working with young children and looking for a flexible opportunity to make a meaningful impact? We are seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Substitute Assistant Teachers/Substitute Behavior Technicians to support our preschool and ABA programs in Edison, NJ.
In this unique substitute role, you'll step in as needed to assist in our preschool classrooms and provide individualized support to children with autism. Every day offers the opportunity to help children learn, grow, and succeed in a supportive and collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide substitute coverage for Assistant Teacher and Behavior Technician positions as needed.
- Support preschool classroom routines, learning activities, and daily operations.
- Help create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
- Provide 1:1 or small-group support for children with autism.
- Implement individualized behavior support plans under the guidance of clinical staff.
- Encourage communication, social interaction, independence, and daily living skills.
- Document progress and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Collaborate with teachers, Behavior Analysts, and families to support student success.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with young children required; experience with children with autism is preferred.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and flexible.
- Ability to work on an as-needed substitute basis.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to meet New Jersey childcare licensing requirements and successfully pass all required background screenings.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
