Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Mental Health Therapist to join our dedicated team in the Randolph County School System. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and be proficient in providing therapeutic support to clients facing various mental health challenges. This role requires a commitment to patient care, crisis management, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy in a school setting.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Document medical records accurately and maintain up-to-date medical documentation.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage crises effectively.
- Utilize conflict management techniques to resolve issues that arise during therapy sessions.
- Support clients in behavior management strategies to promote positive outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Stay informed about best practices in mental health care and integrate them into treatment approaches.
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with MH/SA is preferred
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes and maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Strong skills in crisis management, crisis intervention, and conflict management.
- Experience in patient care settings, demonstrating a commitment to improving mental health outcomes.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and their application in therapeutic settings.
- Understanding of working with children and families a plus.
- Must be licensed in North Carolina as a counselor or social worker (LCMHC/A, LCSW/A).
