The Iowa League of Cities, a membership association representing Iowa’s 850+ cities, is seeking a Data and Policy Research Analyst. Under the direction of the Government Affairs and Membership Services teams, this position leads the League’s research initiatives and provides critical support for legislative advocacy, member services, and organizational decision-making. The Data and Policy Research Analyst conducts legislative and policy research, analyzes data, and develops clear, actionable insights that help city officials and League staff navigate complex policy issues. This role also supports the League’s continued growth in data analytics and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to better serve Iowa’s cities.
Minimum requirements for the role include a bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, political science, statistics, economics or related field and 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in research and analysis and data analytics, preferably in local government, public interest group, or related organization.
This is a hybrid position based in Des Moines, Iowa and requires a minimum of 2 days per week in office. We are a non-smoking office and an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
