Position Summary
The General Manager provides executive leadership for all aspects of OnPoint Security's operations, business development, sales, financial performance, workforce management, and long-term strategic growth.
This individual will oversee day-to-day operations while aggressively expanding the company's client base, securing new contracts, developing strategic partnerships, increasing recurring revenue, and ensuring the highest standards of security service, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
The General Manager will serve as the primary ambassador for OnPoint Security and will be responsible for growing the business while developing a high-performing workforce that delivers exceptional service to every client.
General Objectives
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the day-to-day operations, financial performance, sales growth, and long-term expansion of OnPoint Security, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, client expectations, and revenue targets.
Lead recruitment, hiring, workforce development, employee engagement, and leadership development while fostering strong relationships throughout Astoria, Long Island City, Queens, and the greater New York City business community.
Develop, implement, and lead a comprehensive sales and business development strategy that secures new contracts, expands existing client relationships, increases recurring revenue, and positions OnPoint Security as one of New York City's premier security providers.
Develop and maintain a robust portfolio of clients, cultivate strategic partnerships, pursue public and private procurement opportunities, and expand services across commercial, nonprofit, affordable housing, healthcare, education, retail, construction, and government sectors.
Provide executive oversight of operations while ensuring excellence in service delivery, regulatory compliance, employee accountability, client satisfaction, profitability, and organizational growth.
Promote a culture of accountability, hospitality, professionalism, customer service excellence, employee development, entrepreneurship, and shared success through OnPoint Security's worker ownership and profit-sharing model.
Responsibilities
Executive Leadership
Provide executive leadership for all company operations.
Develop annual strategic plans, operating goals, and performance objectives.
Maintain accountability for organizational performance, profitability, and growth.
Prepare executive reports regarding operational performance, financial results, staffing, and business development activities.
Develop policies and procedures that improve operational effectiveness.
Maintain and adhere to departmental budgets.
Ensure compliance with all New York State licensing requirements and regulatory standards.
Operations Management
Conduct supervisory inspections at client sites to ensure employees are delivering all contracted services while maintaining exceptional customer service and professionalism.
Document supervisory inspections and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Conduct employee performance evaluations and coaching.
Address and report safety concerns in a timely manner.
Coordinate staffing schedules and workforce deployment.
Maintain payroll schedules and personnel records.
Develop and oversee client satisfaction surveys.
Implement performance improvement plans.
Maintain employee licensing, certifications, training records, and compliance documentation.
Provide leadership training, coaching, and professional development to managers, supervisors, and frontline employees.
Stay current on security industry standards, regulatory changes, and best practices.
Develop security procedures, post orders, emergency response plans, investigations, executive protection, workplace security, and event security programs.
Develop standardized hiring processes, interview procedures, and onboarding systems.
Ensure employees understand the company's worker ownership and profit-sharing model.
Collaborate with workforce development organizations to recruit qualified employees.
Represent OnPoint Security at community events and industry meetings.
Sales & Business Development
Develop and execute an annual sales and business development strategy designed to achieve aggressive revenue growth and market expansion.
Identify, cultivate, and secure new clients through networking, prospecting, referrals, strategic partnerships, and relationship development.
Personally maintain an active sales pipeline and provide weekly reporting on prospect activity, proposals submitted, contracts pending, revenue projections, and closed business.
Meet or exceed established monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
Conduct sales presentations, security assessments, and client consultations.
Prepare proposals, pricing packages, presentations, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and procurement responses.
Develop strategic relationships with:

Leverage Urban Upbound's extensive network of relationships to generate qualified business opportunities.
Monitor market trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities to position OnPoint Security for continued growth.
Client Relations
Maintain executive-level relationships with clients.
Ensure exceptional customer service and responsiveness.
Resolve client concerns professionally and promptly.
Maintain high client retention rates.
Conduct regular client visits and business reviews.
Develop long-term partnerships built on trust and performance.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in the security industry, including operations management, personnel supervision, business development, and client relationship management.
Demonstrated success leading multi-site security operations.
Proven experience developing and growing security service businesses.
Demonstrated success in sales leadership, business development, and client acquisition with a documented record of generating new business, closing contracts, and increasing annual revenue.
Possess a valid New York State Security Guard Registration.
Must meet, or be capable of meeting, qualifications required by the New York State Department of State to serve as the Qualifying Officer for a licensed Watch, Guard, and Patrol Agency.

Ability to effectively interact with clients, elected officials, government agencies, law enforcement, community stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Former law enforcement, military, federal protective service, corrections, or public safety leadership experience.
Current or previous designation as a Qualifying Officer for a licensed security agency.
Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or equivalent industry certification.
