Nature of Work
This position assists the Food Program Manager with organizing and maintaining the Manufactured Food Program Standards. The role is critical to ensuring that the program is in conformance with the manufactured food regulatory program standards and the FDA food contract.
Key Responsibilities
Standards Compliance, Audits, & Quality Assurance
- Report Auditing: Review and audit food manufacturing reports for all division inspection staff to check for compliance with the manufactured food program standards.
- Field Audits: Perform food manufacturing field audits for all division inspection staff.
- Contract Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of inspections required by cooperative agreements with the FDA.
Field Inspections & Reporting
- Complex Inspections: Perform complex health risk inspections in the field at food manufacturing and bottled water facilities.
- Bacteriological Reviews: Review bottled water bacteriological reports.
Grant & Program Support
- Grant Deliverables: Assist with the completion of grant reports and grant deliverables for the manufactured food program.
- Professional Development: Participate in Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Manufactured Food Program related conferences and trainings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
AND
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a sanitarian.
OR
Substitution: A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, environmental science, chemistry, biology, physical science or agriculture may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
Special Requirements: Must be licensed as a registered sanitarian by the West Virginia State Board of Sanitarians or be eligible to be licensed with the Board per the Reciprocity section of the Practice of Public Health Sanitation, W. Va. Code R. §20-4-4 et seq. Must possess a valid driver's license. Availability of an automobile for continuous use may be a requisite for employment.
